About the International and Domestic Liaison Office

The International and Domestic Liaison Office promotes and strengthens ties between the Tohoku University’s International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) and the Japanese and global society in the area of disaster risk reduction and mitigation, especially in planning and implementation of developments in international disaster risk reduction. Furthermore, we contribute to the completion of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) between IRIDeS and local governments which were affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, to strengthen regional cooperation.
